Everything about loans

The DMMH library is a public library. This means that you can borrow from our collections even as a non-student, with some restrictions. External patrons can't borrow curriculum books, fiction or children's books from our collection.

Access from home

To read online articles from home, you must connect to DMMH's network. This is done through using a VPN.

Because a VPN connects your device to the network, all websites you visit will grant access to online resources as if you were physically on campus.

Reading- and working spaces

We have multiple areas in the library and our reading hall where you can sit and study alone or in groups. We have a quiet reading hall in the loft above the library, two rooms for group work, and a general workspace in the children's book area.

The quiet reading hall above the library does not allow for discussion or other talking that disrupts others. Your mobile must be in silent mode, and your laptop or device must be in silent mode. Please be mindful of your fellow students.

The two rooms above the library can be booked in TimeEdit.

The reading hall offers multiple sitting groups. This space can be used as a group or individually. This is not a quiet space, so you may experience more discussion and noise.

Requesting books

Any books that are available on the shelf can't be requested.

You can place a hold request on books that are not available, and will be placed in queue. You can place a request by logging into Oria.

Du kan bestille utlånte bøker ved å sette deg på venteliste. Du setter deg på venteliste med å logge deg inn på Min side på Oria

Booking rooms (TimeEdit)

The library offers  two rooms with space for up to 6 people.
These can be booked in TimeEdit, room 217a and 217b.

På biblioteket fins to flotte grupperom med plass til 6 personer på hvert rom.
Disse kan bestilles i TimeEdit, rom 217a og 217b.

Ask a librarian

Contact us if you have questions about citations, finding literature or academic writing. You can come to us directly at the library desk, send us an e-mail or call us. We can also schedule a meeting in person or on Zoom.

Online/off campus students

If you live far away from DMMH and are a student, the library offers sending books and articles to you in the mail. Please contact the library for more information.

Access for external patrons

The DMMH library is a public library. This means anyone can borrow from our collection. This service is free and the usual loan period is 4 weeks. Curriculum books, children's books and fiction is not available to external patrons.

External patrons must register by coming to the library in person. We require valid ID, and contact information must be provided.

Private individuals are asked to use their own public library if DMMH does not have the material you're looking for.
