Rules and conditions

Students and staff at DMMH are automatically added as patrons. 
Your student card is also your library card. Staff are provided separate library cards.

External patrons are registered by request at the library desk. We require a valid ID, and contact information must be provided.

In your account, you can check your loans and requests at any time. You can also renew loans.
Access your account by logging in with your Feide ID in Oria.

The library has a self service desk where  you can register your loans.
To use the self service desk, use the barcode on your student card or the barcode in your student ID app. Scan the barcode and place the book down in the square on the desk. When the screen displays the title of the book, the loan is successfully registered. 

You can also ask a librarian at the desk to register the loan.

Dictaphones can be loaned for 1 week. You can not request dictaphones for specific time periods. Due to the short loan period, we recommend that you schedule the interview before you borrow a dictaphone. 

Books that are available on the shelf can't be requested.
You can request books by signing up for the waiting list. 
If you need material that the DMMH library does not have, you can request it through the inter library loan service.
 

The above services are all available in Oria. The library will send a notification as an SMS/e-mail when requested material can be collected. 
You have 5 days to collect the material from the day you received the notification.

Normal loan period is 4 weeks. Curriculum books can be borrowed for 2 weeks, while dictaphones are restricted to 1 week.
When the due date has passed, the library will notify you.

The loan period must be followed, or you will be blocked from making any further loans until the material is returned or a replacement fee is paid.
The replacement fee is 750 NOK for each lost material.

Loans can be renewed if there are no patrons on the waiting list.
Students and staff can renew their loans through their profile in Oria. External users must contact the library directly for renewals.

If you are unable to renew your loans, please contact the library.

When the loan period has ended, you must either renew or return the material. You can either place your loans inside the return cabinets outside the library on the left, or return them at the desk inside the library. 

If you're an online student or not on campus, you can return the books at your nearest library and ask them to return the books to us. Alternatively, you can send the books in the mail.

If you live far from DMMH and are a student, the library can send books and articles to you in the mail. Please contact the library to make arrangements.
